PHA Gujranwala ‘struggling to pay staff’s salaries’

GUJRANWALA: Parks and Horticulture Authority Gujranwala Director General Tariq Kareem said that PHA was playing a remarkable role for beautification of the city, with limited resources, and was struggling to pay staff’s salaries.

While talking to Daily Times, he said there was shortage of staff and funds at the department, and the department was struggling to pay staff’s salaries. He said that the PHA had taken steps for maintenance and beautification of all parks in the city. He said the department had set up numerous green belts along GT Road and many other parts of the city. Tariq Kareem further said that PHA had completed all arrangements for setting up a new park near Bukhari Road and inauguration ceremony of the park will be held within two days. He said due to shortage of funds, they were struggling to pay their staff.

Man hit by train: Man crushed to death by a train here in Kangniwala area. It was reported that a man was crossing the railway line when a train crushed him to death. The identity of the body has not yet been confirmed.
