Sartaj urges public-private sectors to jointly promote tourism

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz has said that Pakistan is the best country for tourism and scenic beauty.

Addressing an international conference on tourism titled ‘Discover Pakistan’ in Islamabad on Monday, he said five out of eight highest peaks of the world are situated in Pakistan, which are great sources of attractions for mountaineers.

The Advisor said tourism can play an important role in strengthening country’s economy. He called for joint efforts between the public and private sectors to further promote tourism in Pakistan. He said better hotel facilities and state of the art infrastructure are perquisite for the promotion of tourism in the country.

He further added that tourism has greatly increased in Pakistan with the improvement of security situation in the country. He said Pakistan’s strong stance against terrorism has garnered worldwide acknowledgement and great success at home.
