Rana Sanaullah terms Baqir Najfi report “defective”

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has refuted the Model Town Inquiry report of Justice Baqir Najfi, saying the report is defective in the eye of law.

He was addressing a press conference few hours after the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the government to publicise the Model Town Inquiry report within 30 days.

He said that the report had already been made public.

“There is not a single word in the report that holds Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif responsible of Model Town incident,” he said.

The report did not point out a single government official that could be blamed, he went on to say.

He further added that the report was not made public earlier as it was “incomplete, inconclusive and ambiguous”.

The minister, once again, accused Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri of motivating his workers to fight against the police.
