KARACHI: At least five terrorists including one female and a 5-years-old boy were killed while 4 Rangers personnel were injured in an encounter in the area of Urdu Bazaar, Karachi.
Sources said that, on a tip off, Rangers and security agencies carried out a raid on a hide out of terrorists in Urdu bazaar. On spotting Rangers, terrorist attacked on them with cracker bombs. As a result four Rangers personnel sustained injuries.
In retaliatory firing by Rangers one terrorist was killed while the other was arrested. However the terrorists and Rangers personnel continued to trade firing. Blasts were also heard during the exchange of firing.
Five terrorists including one female and a 5-year-old boy died in this 7 hours long operation.
According to Rangers, the deceased boy and female were residing in the respective hide out along with suspects and boy was killed as a result of explosion from terrorists. The residents of the area chanted slogans in support of Rangers following the completion of operation.
Weapons and explosives have been recovered from their possession.
