LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has called upon the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice to expose the elements behind the attempt to amend the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat oath.

Addressing a conference in Mansoora on Saturday, he said it was not a clerical mistake and only a single individual was not involved in it. He said it was a pre-planned move and the apex court should take notice of it and decide the entire matter.

Sirajul Haq demanded the Supreme Court to go ahead with the accountability of all plunderers whether political or non-political, stating that the nation wanted all the corrupt in jail.

The Jamaat-e-Islami chief said that international establishment was the main hurdle in the emergence of truly Islamic leadership in the Muslim world, including Pakistan.

He said that enforcement of Shariah was the only solution to all problems facing the country and the nation.

JUI (F)’s Maulana Amjad Khan, Khwaja Moeenud Din Koreja, Pir Syed Haroon Gilani, Maulana Abdul Ma’lik and Dr Fareed Ahmed Paracha highlighted different aspects of the
life and character of the Holy Prophet on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq said that stooges of US colonists and international establishment were brought into power everywhere in the Muslim world in order to prevent the advance of Islam. Pakistan, he said, was in control of corrupt political elite which considered itself above the law.

The prevailing political culture only suited the wealthy and there was nothing in it for the common man, he said. He said that ‘terrorists’ in the corridors of power were as harmful for the country as those hiding in the mountains.

The Jamaat-e-Islami chief said that the government had lost its writ.

The present rulers never had any objective but to work for themselves; nor were they capable of leading the country and the nation to the goal of progress and prosperity, he said.

He urged the masses to support the JI for social justice & equality, just distribution of the country’s resources, interest free economy and for establishing an Islamic welfare society.

He said that there was no spot of corruption on any religious party or religious leader and none of them were accused of plundering public money.

He said that one did not need lots of money to lead a simple life like the Prophet’s.

Maulana Amjad Khan said that Pakistan would be free from the hold of Islam’s enemies only when ‘Nizam-e-Mustafa’ was enforced.

He said that conspiracies to amend the oath had failed due to the vision of Senator Sirajul Haq, Maulana Fazlur Rahman and their colleagues in the parliament.

Khwaja Moeenud Din Koreja said that in order to make Pakistan a truly Islamic state, teachings of the Holy Prophet and the saints’ must be propagated.

Pir Syed Haroon Gilani emphasised that tolerance and forbearance were one of the many qualities of the Holy Prophet which should be highlighted to minimise violence in society.
