FIA raids two companies for making spurious medicines

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency has unearthed two companies that were involved in manufacturing and distributing spurious and Sub Standard medicines on Tuesday by arresting owners of companies and registered cases against them.

According to the details FIA Corporate Crime Circle Karachi received a complaint from Mr. Zakir Hussain Samoo Provincial Drug Inspector Karachi-II to the effect that M/s Chrism Pharmacy located at G-22&23 The Forum Mall Block 9 Clifton Karachi is involved in sale/sell/supplies & distribution of suspected spurious / counterfeit, Sub Standard and unregistered drugs/ Life Saving drugs unauthorizely and illegally, having no legal authority for it.

Hence, an enquiry No.09/2017 was registered resultantly a raid along with Provincial Drug Inspector and FIA team was conducted at the above premises and recovered Sufficient quantity of suspected to be spurious/counterfeit/substandard /unregistered drugs/life saving drugs from M/ s Chrism. The alleged Irfan could not give any plausible reply,

The recovered drugs were seized on Form-3 by Drug Inspector and also drew samples on Form-2 for lab test analysis report.

Case FIR No. 04/2017 dated 25.04.2017 u/s 23, 27, 30 & 34 of Drug Act-1976 has been registered against accused Irfan and others and affected his arrest in the case.

Meanwhile FIA CCC Karachi received a complaint from Mr. Zakir Hussain Samoo Provincial Drug Inspector Karachi-II to the effect that one godown located at ground floor of The Forum Mall Block 9 Clifton Karachi having huge quantity of stock of suspected spurious / counterfeit, Sub Standard and unregistered drugs/ Life Saving drugs unauthorizely and illegally, having no legal authority for it.

Hence, an enquiry No.10/2017 was registered resultantly a raid along with Provincial Drug Inspector and FIA team was conducted at the above premises and sufficient quantity of suspected to be spurious/counterfeit/substandard/unregistered drugs/life saving drugs were recovered from the godown located at above premises. The alleged Amjad Khan S/o Azam khan custodian of above godown could not give any plausible reply,

The recovered drugs were seized on Form-3 by Drug Inspector and he also drew samples on Form-2 for lab test analysis report. Case FIR No.05/2017 dated 25.04.2017 u/s 23, 27, 30 & 34 of Drug Act-1976 has been registered by Sub Inspector Rao Muhammad Faheem against accused Amjad Khan S/o Azam Khan and others and affected his arrest in the case.
