According to details, the objectives of the workshop are to provide a platform to leading national researchers from various areas of nanomedicine for exchanging ideas, latest research in the field of medicine, nanotechnology, industry and drug regulation affairs.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, QAU Vice Chancellor Dr Javed Ashraf lauded the efforts of the organisers and said that importance of the nanomedicine could not be neglected in achieving healthcare goals. He said that the Faculty of Biological Sciences had contributed enormously to producing quality research.
Earlier, Prof Dr GuL Majid Khan, chairperson Department of Pharmacy and chief organiser of the workshop, welcomed the guests. He said that relevance and scientific significance of the workshop was quite important from the existing national needs in the promotion of nanomedicine research and its implication on national level to address the pharma needs in developing advanced level nanomedicine. He said that it was the need of the day to develop interlink between the Pharma industry, academia and research to develop nanomedicine to promote health benefits.
Dr Muhammad Ayub, Faculty of Natural Sciences dean, Dr. Muhammad Shahab, Faculty of Biological Sciences dean and Dr Fakharuddin, assistant professor Department of Pharmacy, QAU, and focal person of the workshop also addressed the ceremony.
Speakers and researchers from pharmaceutical industry and representatives from the Drug Regulation Authority of Pakistan would enlighten students and participants. The workshop would conclude on November 30, 2017.
