ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal Tuesday sought the preliminary report of an inquiry being conducted by NAB Rawalpindi bureau against alleged corruption, leakage of different question papers and other irregularities in National Testing Service (NTS) as per the complaints received to the NAB.
The chairman had a month earlier ordered the NAB Rawalpindi director general to conduct an inquiry into complaints received against the NTS.
The complaints included frequent leak of question papers, alleged corrupt practices and failure to protect interests of students.
The NAB Rawalpindi had also been assigned to identify those responsible for allowing the NTS to conduct various examinations despite the presence of provincial and federal service commissions.
The NAB Rawalpindi was also assigned to probe reasons of NTS’s alleged failure of devising a foolproof, transparent and merit-based examination system.
According to a statement, the alleged non-transparent system of NTS examinations had not only jeopardised future of thousands of students but also squandered their precious amounts, which had no moral of legal reasons.
