KARACHI: The administration of District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Central is in a fix how to lift the containers size trash boxes that have been put on roadsides within DMC’s administrative precinct by Bahria Town administration, which are hindering traffics flow.

“We have no appropriate arrangements and the moving machinery to lift these containers after they have been stuffed with garbage”.

Shahrah-e-Pakistan Karachi, Rashid Minhas Road, Shah Waliullah Road, Sher Shah Shuri Road, Sakhi Hassan North Nizamabad, Allama Rasheed Turrabi Road, Nagan Chowrangi, Landhi Kotal and Dr Ziauddin Hospital Road are the roads wher Bahria has put hu8ge size of dustbins without consulting with us on the matter”, Ghous Moihuddin, Director Sanitation DMC Central informed.

Rehan Hashmi, Chairman DMC Central has sought help from Mayor Karachi in this regard to get rid of the tbins which could not be lifted without any heavy machinery besides being-filled and polluting the areas where they have been quartered making the surrounding areas stinky .

DMC has only two garbage lifting vehicles and these machines are not made of such kind of job.

The dwellers of the concerned areas have already lodged complaints with DMC Central for lifting the dustbins full of garbage.

The large size of dustbins has also created the bottleneck in the smooth flow of vehicular traffic.

Aslam Baig, Deputy Director and Nadeem Haider, Assistant Director Sanitation DMC Central have maintained that Bahria administration has put these bins on their own without consulting DMC officials.
