PESHAWAR: The federation of all Pakistan universities academic staff associations (FAPUASA) khyber pakhtun khwa chapter has demanded eradication of all the legal hitches on the way of appointment of vice-chancellors and sought early appointment against vacant vice- chancellors posts.

Speaking to the emergency press conference here atPeshawar press club on Wednesday president FAPUASA Dr. abdul shakoor has said that delaying tactics on appointment of vice chancellors in public sector universities has caused confusion and depleting condition of good governance in universities administration.

He said that some self motivated persons have pursued Peshawar high court for taking stay order just to create hurdles on the way of appointment of permanent vice chancellors.

Flanked by PUTA president Dr. jameel ahamd, D.r badsha salam general secretary FAPUASA Dr. zubair president bannu university teaching staff, he said that mashal khan incident took place due to the dysfunctional pro vice chancellor set up which deviated early action and the incident happened.

Meanwhile PUTA president Dr.jameel ahmad chitrali has demanded trial of mashal khan’s murderer under military courts.

He lamented that recent wave of adhocism in appointment of vice chancellors has caused anarchic condition in universities administrations adding that he said that 19 out of 13 universities are working under adhoc basis.

Meanwhile he said that beside regular VCs universities are being run without statutes, although most universities had conducted their senate meetings but few universities have so far did not convened their senate meetings. He demanded that appointment of regular vice chancellors be made on war footings so that incident like mashal khan could be terminated.
