Region’s peace will remain at stake if Kashmir issue remains unresolved: Asif

MOSCOW: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that region’s peace and stability will remain at stake if Kashmir issue is left unresolved.

Speaking at the sixth Moscow Conference on International Security, Khawaja Asif said that if left unresolved, the Kashmir issue will not only threaten Pakistan but also the security of the entire region.

“The Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with the UN resolution, I must share that all peace overtures and sincere efforts made by Pakistan are not being reciprocated.” The defence minister said.

He said world community that it is their responsibility to address the long-standing conflicts of the world, which in fact included the Kashmir issue.

“From Palestine to Kashmir, we have a history of suppression and denial of basic human rights,” he said.

Defence Minister said Pakistan does not believe in any division between terrorist outfits.
