Man kills two wives for ‘honour’

JACOBABAD: A husband with the help of his son killed his two wives in the name of so-called honour at Qasba Kalo Khan Bhanghar in the limits of Saddar Police Station, Jacobabad on Thursday morning. According to SHO Saddar Police Station Ayaz Pathan initial reports suggested that a ruthless husband named Sikandar Ali Dasti with the help of his real son named Sobho Khan, 15, shot dead both his wives identified as Lawari, aged around 37, the mother of Sobho Khan, and second wife identified as Zareena, aged around 25, with TT Pistol over the pretext of honour killing and both the accused, father and son managed to escape after committing the crime, SHO said. SHO further added that, accused Sikandar Dasti suspected an illicit relation with Abdul Aziz Brohi and Haq Nawaz Brohi and shot dead both of his wives on the pretext of honour killing with the help of his son. Area police shifted the dead bodies to Civil Hospital Jacobabad for post-mortem and handed over to their heirs after conducting post-mortem examination. Neither was a FIR registered nor any arrest made till this story was filed. It should be mentioned here that several city organizations and notables of the city Jacobabad took out a rally against honour killing, which demanded of the higher authorities to take solid steps to stop brutal killing of innocent women over the pretext of Karo-Karo in the previous week in Jacobabad district. Separately, a woman identified as Rehanan, 25, wife of Nadar Marfani was gunned down at village Deewal Marfani over pretext of Karo-Kari, in the limits of Dilawar Marfani Police Station, some 40 kilometers away from here, on Thursday. Area police shifted the body of the deceased to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and handed over her body to her relatives after conducting the post-mortem. A case has yet to be registered.
