PML-N MNA Javed Latif injured in attack

SHEIKHUPURA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of the National Assembly Mian Javed Latif was injured in an attack in Sheikhupura on Saturday by men protesting against the crackdown on the participants of Faizabad Interchange sit-in. The lawmaker from NA-133 (Sheikhupura) was in Batti Chowk area to negotiate with the protesters. A policeman trying to protect the lawmaker was also injured in the attack. The Islamabad police, aided by the Frontier Constabulary and Rangers, Saturday morning launched a crackdown on religious parties’ protesters camping at Faizabad intersection since November 8. As soon as the news of the action against Tehreek-e-Labaik protesters spread, protests broke out across the country.
