Turkish ambassador calls on army chief

RAWALPINDI: Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Sadik Babur Girgin, who is nearing the end of his tenure of service in Pakistan, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. Matters of mutual interest including regional security issues were discussed during the meeting. The two dignitaries noted the exceptional mutual relations between the brotherly nations and pledged to further improve the ties, the ISPR statement added. On Thursday, General Bajwa visited the Southern Command Headquarters in Quetta in connection with the execution of ‘Khush Hal Balochistan’ (KHB) initiative. The COAS said on the occasion that the army shall provide full support to the federal and provincial governments for the success of the KHB initiative, adding that the program in fact is ‘Khush Hal Balochistan- Khush Hal Pakistan,’ according to the ISPR.
