KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has issued notice to Airport Security Force to produce before it the CCTV cameras data of the period during which a man went missing soon after landing at the Jinnah International Airport.

A two-judge bench headed by Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui also issued notice to the authorities concerned to submit the record of the flight NLI 1234 which carried the missing person from Saudi Arabia to the Karachi airport.

The court had taken up the petition filed by Afzal-ul-Haq seeking whereabouts of his son.

The petitioner submitted that his son Muhammad Ajmal landed at the airport on Sep 28, 2015 after performing Hajj. After landing at the airport, Ajmal was in contact with him and his brother, he said while adding soon afterwards his cell phone went off and he disappeared mysteriously.

He complained that he had approached the officers of the law enforcement agencies and the airport authorities to seek clue to the whereabouts of his son but they did not disclose any information. He requested the judges to direct the authorities concerned to recover his son and produce him before the court.

Meanwhile, the same bench directed two immigration officers to swear their affidavits to the effect that the personnel of the law enforcement agencies had not taken an architect into their custody upon his arrival at the Karachi airport.

The bench was hearing the petition filed by Wajeeha Yaqoob Siddiqui seeking recovery of her spouse Mirza Saud Ali Baig.

The woman petitioner submitted that her husband, an architect in a Dubai-based private company, was arrested by Dubai police in Sept 2015 and later deported along with his family.

Upon their arrival at the airport, the immigration staff refused to stamp their passports and took her husband away, she said adding since then there was no clue to his whereabouts as the law enforcement agencies are not disclosing any information about him.

She pleaded the judges to direct the authorities to produce her husband before the court.
