LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Friday, praised the courage of Police Additional Inspector General Ashraf Nur who was martyred in a suicide blast in Peshawar.
Ashraf was martyred when a suicide bomber slammed his motorcycle into Ahsraf’s car which then caught fire and led to his and his driver’s death. Five other people including three policemen were also injured at the scene and were shifted to Hayatabad medical complex.
COAS condemned the incident and said, “Our determination remains undeterred against threats to our motherland”.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also condemned the incident.
“Our resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism cannot be shaken,” PM Abbasi said.
