LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on Thursday, lashed out at former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and said that the former primer is a threat to democracy.
Referring to Sharif’s November 19 speech in which he said his name represents an ideology, Bilawal said that Sharif does not understand the meaning of ideology. He called him an opportunist and a threat to democracy in Pakistan. He also said that PPP was working to strengthen democracy in Pakistan.
Yesterday, Nawaz criticised PPP for exhibiting anti-democratic behaviour by supporting an amendment in Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 which would have restricted disqualified parliamentarians from heading political parties.
