Finance Division approves 1,440 new posts for FATA

ISLAMABAD: Finance Division has approved 1,440 posts of education and health sectors following the required 2,200 sanctioned new posts (SNEs) in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Deputy Financial Advisor (DFA) Muzaffar Burki said.

Following a series of meetings, official correspondence and wrangling, the Finance Division has approved 824 and 616 posts in education and health sectors respectively, involving financial implications of Rs 558.586 million in the first phase during 2017-2018 and 2018-2019, he added. Earlier, Senator Hidayatullah from Bajaur region said that a total of 5,545 posts were required in the service delivery sectors in FATA and the Ministry of Finance had agreed to sanction 2,200 of them. But, Burki said the remaining 853 posts relating to different departments of FATA Secretariat would be considered in the second phase after completion of recruitments of first phase.

A letter addressed to the FATA Secretariat by the Finance Division stated, “Creation of these posts is subjected to the condition that the expenditure involved for the purpose will be met from within the sanctioned budget of FATA Secretariat during CFY 2017-2018.”
