LAHORE: An officer of Pakistan Army was martyred in a gun battle with militants during a search operation in Kulachi area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district, a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
The ISPR said 28 years old Major Ishaq, a resident of Khushab district of Punjab, is survived by a widow and a year old son.
The funeral prayer was held at Dera Ismail Khan, and was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other high-ranking officials, including Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Nazir Butt.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also expressed his condolence over the martyrdom of Major Ishaq.
