KARACHI: Pakistan’s sensational fast bowler Hasan Ali has been penalised for breaching the players’ code of conduct during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League match between Comilla Victorians and Dhaka Dynamites on Monday. A statement from Bangladesh Cricket Board said Tuesday that Comilla Victorians’ Pakistan recruit Ali was penalised for breaching Level 1 of the BCB Code of Conduct during their Bangladesh Premier League match on November 20. “Ali was fined 25 percent of his match fees after he was found to have breached Article 2.1.7 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his dismissal during a match,” said the statement.

He was charged by on-field umpires Ranmore Martinesz and Masudur Rahman Mukul, third umpire Anisur Rahman and fourth umpire Imran Parvez Ripon for pointing towards the dressing room after dismissing Dhaka Dynamites batsman Mosaddek Hossain Saikat. “Ali admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Samiur Rahman and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing,” said the BCB statement.

“In addition to the sanction imposed two (02) demerit points have been added to Ali’s disciplinary record,” it added. Ali, in the match, had destroyed Dhaka’s batting attack with a fiery bowling attack, taking five wickets for 20 runs, which is also his career best T20 bowling.
