Resolution passed against SSGC, food, health departments

SHIKARPUR: A resolution against poor performance of Health Department Shikarpur, Food Department and SSGC officials was passed on Friday in the district council meeting held at Deputy Commissioner Office Shikarpur, here.

Agha Masihuddin Khan Durrani, the District Chairman Shikarpur, Agha lamented poor performance of the above mentioned departments saying that doctors are not ready to perform their duties with honesty despite taking reasonable salaries and RHCs, BHUs and other health centers are being run by dispensers as doctors are interested in their private clinics therefore poor patients are at the mercy of dispensers.

Agha directed the District Health Officer (DHO) Health Shikarpur Kazi Khurshed to provide all necessary information regarding doctors and paramedical staff and the read handout issued by Information Department Shikarpur, here on Friday.

Abdul Salam Unar, council member, said that the poor performance of the Civil Hospital Shikarpur is not hidden from anyone, in this regard the CM Special Team, Circle Officer Anti Corruption Shikarpur, District and Sessions Judge Shikarpur and Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur paid surprise visits and issued strict instructions to improve the condition of the hospital, but no improvement has been observed at the hospital.

Sindh government set up a Trauma Centre in Lakhi Ghulam Shah Hospital to facilitate poor patients the cost of millions of rupees, but concerned authorities have failed to install an electric transformer there due to poor performance and negligence of concerned authorities hence Trauma Centre has been closed since its inception.

Nadir Ali Shah, complained about prolonged unannounced breakdown of gas, while SSGC’s officer Nadir Baloch said that 200 to 300 illegal heavy generators are running on gas in Shikarpur in this regard Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been informed, but FIA officials are found involved to collect monthly kickbacks from illegal generators’ owners therefore FIA officials are not taking any action against them.

Speaking at the occasion, Agha said that Food Department officials are found to be involved in selling gunny bags to traders. The meeting participants passed a condemnable resolution against SSGC, Food Department and meeting was postponed till 24th May of this year.
