LAHORE: A fisherman spotted the first ever killer whale in the region near Churna Island on Tuesday.

The killer whale is an apex predator that can grow up to 60 feet and is found in open waters and tropical oceans. There no record of the killer whale being sighted in Pakistani waters until now. It is rarely found in the northern Arabian Sea.

WWF-Pakistan released a video of the killer whale sighting by its trained fisherman Muhammad Muneeb about 30km southwest of Churna Island. According to WWF-Pakistan, the pod of 3 killer whales was feeding on Queenfish.
