Lyari gangster among six held by Rangers

KARACHI: The Rangers Monday claimed to have arrested at least six suspects, including a political worker and Lyari gangster, during separate raids in parts of the city.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, an accused namely Mohsin Mirza was arrested during a raid conducted in Jamshed Town area, adding that the accused arrested belonged to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London, who was involved in several cases of crime.

In another raid, the paramilitary force claimed to have arrested an accused during a raid conducted in Saudabad area. A Rangers’ spokesperson said that the accused arrested was a member of Lyari gang and was involved in various cases of crime and gang war.

Three more suspects who were later identified as Faisal alias Faizi, Aqib Baloch and Karman were arrested during separate raids conducted by Rangers in Landhi and Gulshan-e-Iqbal localites. The spokesperson said that the suspects arrested were involved in various cases of street crimes, especially depriving citizens from their cellphones and motorcycles.

Meanwhile, anther accused namely Fahim Ahmed was arrested by Rangers in Landhi area. The spokesperson said that the accused was involved in setting the vehicles on fire. The Rangers also claim to have recovered arms and ammunitions from them. The suspects, however, were later handed over to police.
