Citizens flay power outages

LARKANA: The dwellers of Noor Colony took out a rally and staged sit-in on Wagan Road to castigate disconnection of electricity for long besides removal of Pole Mounting Transformers by SEPCO officials in the area.

They said their Colony has been deprived of basic necessity since last 12 months and about a month PMTs have also been removed. Claiming they have been demanding installation of power meters in their houses but power entity has been reluctant to do so.

Meanwhile, in Warah, shutter down was observed on the call of Shopkeepers Ittehad against power outages. They took out a protest rally led by District Council members. They claimed 16 to 18 hours load shedding daily has made their lives miserable.

They demanded removal of SDO and other line staff. They also said that around 300 villages in adjoining parts of city have been facing power load shedding for long. They claimed SEPCO staff has been demanding money for repair of defective PMTs. Meanwhile rain disturbed routine life of the city and adjoining villages. Streets and main roads remained inundated with rainwater and sewage system collapse in parts of areas.
