Talking to the bereaved families and later with the media on Sunday, Pervaiz Elahi said that he and his party equally shared the grief and sorrow of the victims’ families.
He said that the incident was the worst example of brutality. “Had the government provided them (victims) employment opportunities in the country, they could have been saved from falling prey to agents for going abroad in search of better future,” he said.
Formerly the Punjab chief minister, Pervaiz Elahi expressed sympathies with the parents of the youth hailing from Gujrat via telephone and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant solace and patience to them.
Responding to the questions from the media, Ch Parvez Elahi said, “Until our rulers do not create maximum employment opportunities in the country, people will be forced to go abroad in search of employment through illegal means and becoming victims of different incidents.
He said that there was a dire need for an effective and result-oriented action against networks of agents and human traffickers who in greed for commission befool the youth and play havoc with their lives.
