LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq has rejected the government recommendations on Dawn leaks and said that only weak people were being made scapegoat on an issue of national security.

Addressing a big public meeting at Batgram on Saturday he said that the DAWN leaks was an issue of immense importance concerning national security and the whole truth must come out. He said that the leader of the official team should have been conscious of his responsibilities in this respect.

He said that unless and until accountability was begun from the top the affairs of the state could not be set right.

He said that Nawaz Sharif who had gifted corruption, poverty and load shedding to the nation had the only option to resign so that investigations against the ruling family could be carried out in a transparent and independent atmosphere. He said that the nation wanted to see the corrupt elite behind the bars. He said that if accountability was not done even by the Supreme Court (SC), the people would hold the accountability of the corrupt on roads and streets.

Siraj said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had plundered the public money to its heart fill and now Pakistan Muslim League-N government had broken all records of corruption. He said that it was the need of the time for nation to stand united against the corrupt elements and brought them to accountability so as to recover the plundered wealth from them.
