RAWALPINDI: At least 1,400 retired employees of the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation and 600 pensioners of the district government have not been paid their pensions for the last four months in Rawalpindi Division.
Officials said that the district government had stopped the payments due to a lack of funds.
The employees and pensioners have protested against the authorities. They said that if their dues were not paid, they would stage a protest outside the offices of the mayor and deputy commissioner.
The pensioners criticised the authorities, stating that they had spent their lives serving their department, but now had been ignored.
