RAWALPINDI: Patients on Saturday protested against a faulty CT SCAN machine at the district headquarters hospital. They demanded that the machine be repaired.
According to details, the patients said that the machine had been dysfunctional for the past few weeks. This had created a number of problems for patients. They have been forced to get their CT scans from private clinics, where charges are very high.
Dozens of patients who come to the hospital require CT scans on a daily basis.
Earlier, 40 to 45 patients were provided the facility of CT scan daily, but now the administration asks such patients to go to private clinics. The administration has failed to get the machine repaired. The patients said that each CT scan from a private laboratory cost around Rs 4,000 to 5,000. The hospital administration said that the machine was old and its warranty had expired. “A new tender was floated on April 22. A new company will be hired to repair the machine,” the administration said.
