RAWALPINDI: Government has decided to set up 20 Ramazan Bazaars in Rawalpindi district to provide edibles and commodities at subsidized rates to the citizens during holy month of Ramazan.
All the necessary arrangements have been made in this regard. 8 bazaars will be set up in Rawalpindi city in the areas of Committee chowk, Shams Abad, Chungi No 22 while 2 bazaars each in all the Tehsils of district Rawalpindi will be set up. These bazaars will start functioning from Shuban 28 and will last till Ramadan 29. A utility stores counter will also be operated in every weekly bazaar wherein edibles, ghee, sugar, atta and eatables will be sold out at lower rates.
All the tehsildars and naib tehsildars have been delegated powers of price magistrates to check the prices in these bazaars. The edibles, vegetables and fruits will be sold out at lower rate than market rate by Rs 2 to 15 in these bazaars.
Price magistrate or assistant commissioner will be in charge of every sustay bazaar that will perform their duties on daily basis.
