KARACHI: In an incident of dacoity, two criminals, on Tuesday have taken away one million rupees from Private News Chanel’s van from Firozabad area.

After the successful snatching the gunmen fled the spot but before leaving the scene they fired upon the van to stop them from chasing. IGP Sindh police AD Khawaja has taken notice of the incident and sought complete enquiry report from DIG East Arif Hanif.

According to the Rao Rafiq, the Station House Officer of Firozabad police station, as per the details given by complainant in his statement has informed that when the incident occurred the driver and admin manager of private news TV channel Ahmar Rehman were coming to their office after drawing cash from the private bank located in the remit of PECHS.

“When they reached near their office, two gunmen were already waiting for them stopped the van and on gunpoint snatched 9 lac 50 thousands rupees from Ahmar Rehman” SHO further said. Suspects also fired upon the van to harass the driver who might have the intentions to chase the suspects.

Police have registered an FIR against unknown criminals while the AD Khawaja, the Inspector General of Sindh police has taken notice of the incident and directed DIG East to arrest the criminals as soon as possible.
