Nomination of Waheed Ahmed for FPCCI vice chairman hailed

KARACHI: All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association (PFVA) Chairman Aslam Pakhali, members of its executive committee and members of its general body have praised leadership of the United Business Group (UBG) for their commendable efforts in resolving issues of the business community and stabilising the economy. They also assured support and render assistance to the UBG in the forthcoming elections of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI).

Warmly welcoming nomination of PFVA Patron-in-Chief Waheed Ahmed as a candidate for the post of FPCCI vice president, PFVA chairman and members hailed the decision of the UBG as timely and well deserving.

Paying tribute to sincere and untiring efforts of top leadership of the UBG including Chairman Iftekhar Malik, Patron-in-Chief S.M. Munir, Secretary General Zubair Tufail, Ilyas Billo, Mian Idrees, Khalid Tawab, Dr Ikhtiar Baig, Gulzar Feroz and others, the PFVA chairman and members acknowledged exceptional performance of the UBG in resolving issues of the business community.

“The FPCCI has once again come up as an effective and active platform of the country and the issues confronted by the business community were highlighted in very presentable and effective manner such that the government had to announce a relief package for export-oriented organisations,” the PFVA leaders said. Similarly, the leadership of UBG and the FPCCI president played an exemplary role in nomination of Waheed Ahmed for the role of FPCCI vice president would play a vital role for the uplift of horticulture sector and conduction of national conference for development of road map with mutual co-ordination of the PFVA and FPCCI, they said.

With nomination of Waheed Ahmed, it had undoubtedly proved that all decisions of the UBG are made on the basis of merit and transparency, said PFVA Chairman Aslam Pakhali. With consistent support and assistance of the UBG leadership, the issues of horticulture sector are being acknowledged at the highest level of the government, he said.

The untiring efforts of UBG leadership have been of great help in drawing attention of the government to issues of the exports’ industries, he said.

Aslam Pakhali and members PFVA executive committee members expressed confidence that Waheed Ahmed would play a significant role if elected, realising his potential for the betterment and further for uplift of the horticulture sector.
