Ban imposed on transfer of teachers

RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Education Department has imposed a ban on transfer and recruitment of teachers for the government education institutions across the Rawalpindi Division.

According to the notification, the hiring and transfer process has been stopped and will remain suspended till further orders. The District Education Authority has been directed to stop the process of recruitment of 300 teachers.

The teachers associations of Murree, Kahuta, Kalar Syedan, Rawalpindi, Gujar Khan and Taxila have condemned the decision and have announced a protest.

The teachers criticised the government, stating that such bans were only imposed in the education department and not in any other government department.
