2018 general polls likely to be delayed: Wassan

KHAIRPUR: Sindh Industries and Production Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan has claimed that 2018 general elections would likely be delayed or held before the completion of the current government’s tenure.

Speaking with local journalists in Kot Diji, Wassan predicted that the Grand Democratic Alliance would be disbanded and their members would join Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) or Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

He claimed that Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan and London were the same thing; and they would contest next general elections under a single banner.

Wassan maintained that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was no more in a strong position due to is abysmal performance.

“A clash had been started between politicians and establishment, and in the process, may be some will go behind bars,” he said.

He said the PPP would win the upcoming elections with a majority and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would become prime minister.

Earlier, Wasan inaugurated the helpline Madadgar-15 in Kot Diji and announced the construction of a new building for Kumb Town Committee.

He said that door of PPP remained open for masses as PPP had always served public and redressed their problems whenever it came into power.

PPP leader Munawar Wassan, District Council Chairman Sharyar Khan, Wassan Sayed Bachal Shah and others were present at the occasion.

13 PPP workers join PTI: Meanwhile, 13 Pakistan People’s Party activists, including a councillor, have joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). In a ceremony, PPP Ward-6 Councillor Sayed Sabit Ali Shah, along with other PPP activists including Munawar Ali Shah, Sayed Madad Ali Shah, Haffezul Rehman, former councillor Asad Ali Shajro, Basit Ali Jalbani, Maroof Pathan, Shah Zado Jagirani, Abid Hussain Jagirani, Amir Kehar, Kamran Shaikh, Nadeem Abdro, Mujahid Jamali and others announced their decision to join PTI after a meeting with PTI Sukkur Division President Mubeen Ahmed Jatoi, District Khairpur President Shakir Ali Shah and PTI General Secretary Dr Wajid Mahar.
