DADU: Around 454 students appeared in the entry test of Sindh University Dadu Campus for admission in its 4-year Bachelor of Science (BS) Information and Technology, BS English and Bachelor of Business Administration programmes.
Sindh University Dadu Campus Vice Chancellor Dr Anwar Ali Shah examined the security of the examination halls.
Dr Anwar said that 115 girls and 339 boys were competing for 180 seats. He said an international conference will be held in January 2018 at the university campus besides a seminar on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to be held in March 2018.
Protest against hospital: Members of civil society and patients observed a token hunger strike outside Dadu Press Club to register their protest against Civil Hospital Dadu for not providing medical tests and test facilities due to non-functional dialyses and other machines.
PPP-SB rally: Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party Shaheed Bhutto PPP-SB took out a rally to protest against refusal of authorities for not increasing support price of paddy and sugarcane. Local leaders Ali Mohammad, Zain Ghaloo and Asad Mastoi demanded fixation of paddy crop price and threatened further protests if the issue was not addressed soon.
‘Dacoits’ injured in gunfight: Two ‘dacoits’ were injured in a gunfight with the police near KN Shah Town area on Sunday. The injured were identified as Mushtaq Lakhiar and Jinsar Khakheli and were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
Dadu SSP Shabbir Ahmed Sethar said that both the injured had been involved in robberies for the last several years. He said the police recovered two pistols and ammunition from their possession.
