Into the wild mess

Author: Mariam Saeed Khan

Flipped coins, spinning across the wilderness of wanderings

Slowing down into oblivion

Perhaps, stillness

Going deeper into the woods

Listening to the silence,

Beating hearts yet lost

A sense of getting by and through the journey

Just when I stopped walking,

I saw the reflection of the sun peeking through the trees

And the scattered crunchy leaves falling around,

Like the seasonal transition of lives

The sight of another traveler was seen,

Witnessing the forest
