The Dream Door

Author: Munir Momin

In my eyes

Someone,

Sits counting the stars

One… two…

And then

She forgets the count of the dreams

She has buried

If you were awake

I’d have shown you

Sky’s a dream in daylight

And a door at night

Padlocked from behind

Sometimes,

As I imagine

Flying the earth

Like a kite

Whatever

Visible beyond the wall

My eyes wouldn’t recognize them at all
