ISLAMABAD: The All Pakistan Tankers Association (APTA) urged the government on Monday to withdraw unnecessary taxes imposed on oil tankers.

APTA staged a protest rally from Airport, Faizabad towards Morgah on Monday. Hundreds of tankers owners participated in the rally. Addressing the participants, APTA president Raja Muhammad Saeed, vice president Chaudhry Babar and Secretary General Malik Muhammad Nawaz said that the government should take steps to lower the burden of taxes from the sector. “The government should withdraw the taxes imposed on tankers immediately. The government has imposed the dual taxes on the transportation of petroleum products on provincial and district level across the country,” they said. “If our demands are not accepted, ATPA will stage a protest outside the Parliament,” they said.
