GUJRANWALA: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) teams, in separate raids, arrested four alleged human traffickers from Gujrat. It was said that the arrested: Muhammad Ilyas, Muhammad Arshad, Shamraiz Ali and Nazir Ahmed, residents of Gujrat, were involved in human trafficking.
Chehlum security arrangements: District police were reported to have completed the arrangements to provide foolproof security for the Chehlum of Imam Hussain on November 10. It was said that a total of 12 processions and five ‘Majalis’ will be held on the day throughout the district.
Highway Patrol arrests two: Punjab Highway Patrol arrested two proclaimed offenders and handed them over to concerned police. It was reported that on a tip-off, Punjab Highway Patrol raided the houses of Masood Ali and Muhammad Younas and handed them over to police who registered cases against them. Punjab Highway Patrol SP Shujat Ali Rana showed his satisfaction over the activities of officials.
Anti-corruption arrests clerk: Anti-corruption team arrested a clerk of education department accused of enjoying a double salary from government exchequer. Anti-corruption office received a tip-off that senior clerk Muhammad Latif was transferred from Kamoki to Wazirabad, but was still drawing a salary from both offices. After investigation, anti-corruption team found the allegations true and arrested Latif. He was later presented before a judicial magistrate who sent him on a one-day physical remand.
