ISLAMABAD: The accountability court hearing corruption references filed against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family dismissed Nawaz’s plea to club the three references into a single reference on Wednesday.

Nawaz, Maryam and Safdar reached the judicial complex amid tight security Early Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday , the accountability court had reserved its decision regarding the above mentioned plea, it is pertinent to mention here that the accountability court had rejected a similar plea earlier, but was directed by the Islamabad High Court on November 2 to re-hear the plea.

Nawaz along with his family faces three reference of corruption filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) following the Supreme Courts verdict regarding the Panama Paper’s case.

Maryam and Captain (retd) Safdar also filed an application seeking a change in their indictment in which the court had stated in a charge sheet the submission of a false document.

The application argues that the SC had asked a lower court to first establish if fake documents were submitted and than follow on with suitable action but this has not been done by a lower court yet.
