ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif accompanied by daughter Maryam, reached Islamabad via a flight from Lahore on Monday and appeared before the accountability court with Captain (retd) Safdar on Tuesday.
A number of cabinet and senior party members are also present at the judicial complex.
Due to a petition by Nawaz Sharif, the IHC on Thursday November 2 had directed the accountability court to re-hear a plea seeking to club the three references against him and issue a detailed order giving the legal reasons of its earlier decision of not clubbing the references.
Regular court proceedings will resume once the plea is decided upon.
Khawaja Harris presented Nawaz’s plea before accountability court judge Mohammad Bashir, NAB opposed the plea.
Meanwhile Nawaz Sharif and Maryum Nawaz left the judicial complex after Harris had presented his arguments.
The ex-premier held at a meeting at the Punjab house to discuss the game plan and strategy for the upcoming 2018 general elections meanwhile, he also constituted a five-member committee to contact political parties regarding making a constitutional amendment bill for new delimitation’s.
The five member committee includes National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Law Minister Zahid Hamid, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Ameer Muqam.
Nawaz instructed the senior party members to ensure that the new delimitation’s are laid out.

Earlier Nawaz held a meeting with his legal team and was advised to appear before the accountability court on Tuesday.
During the last hearing on November 3, the bailable arrest warrants issued against the former premier on October 26 were continued and the hearing was adjourned till November 7.
Nawaz was indicted in the Avenfield properties case alongside Maryam and Safdar, he had also been indicted in the two other references filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) upon instructions of the Supreme court of Pakistan in light of its Panama case verdict.
