ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar said on Monday that the bench and bar were the integral part of judicial system. “Thus it is incumbent upon both of them to address legal needs and expectations of litigant parties by providing them speedy justice,” he said. He was talking to the members of Supreme Court Bar Association’s (SCBA) outgoing body headed by its president Rasheed A Riazi and newly-elected body headed by its president Syed Muhammad Kaleem Ahmed Khursheed, who called on him here at the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday.

He said that for cause of administration of justice, the role of the bar was very crucial, adding that without cooperation of bar, goal of dispensation of justice could not be fulfilled.

Bidding farewell to the outgoing SCBA president Rasheed A Rizvi and his cabinet members, the CJP praised the services rendered by them, saying that the SCBA under Rizvi had performed very well. Felicitating the newly-elected SCBA President Syed Muhammad Kaleem Ahmed Khursheed and his cabinet, the CJP said he had cordial relationship with bar and assured them that he and other Supreme Court’s judges would extend cooperation to the bar for strengthening the institution of judiciary.
