Over half a dozen suspects booked in rape attempt

KARACHI: Police have booked over half a dozen suspects for allegedly attempting to rape a Christian woman in the Defence Housing Authority.

Police officials said that the incident took place in room number 302 of a four-star hotel located in Phase VIII of the Defence Housing Authority on the night between October 28 and 29. They said that that the victim, who is an American citizen, told police that her friend, namely Faraz, took her to the hotel’s room where his friends allegedly attempted to rape her, however, they could not be successful as she resisted.

The complainant; however, got registered a FIR against the suspects at the Sahil Police Station on Sunday night.

Police officials said that they had recorded the victim’s statement and also obtained the camera’s recording from the hotel. They added that the case had been transferred to the investigation wing of police.
