KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the killing of a Pakistani diplomat in the Afghan city of Jalalabad, and termed it both shocking and dangerous.

In a statement, the PPP Chairman said that providing protection to foreign diplomats and their families was the primary responsibility of the Afghan government.

He said that the murder of a Pakistani diplomat, Nayyar Iqbal, was a matter of serious public concern, with implications for bilateral ties between the two countries. He urged the Afghan authorities to conduct an expeditious investigation into this tragedy and to strengthen security protocols for Pakistani diplomats in their country.
