Half Face

Author: Eeshah Omer

A thousand miles away from home

You try to find a place

To wear out of your misalignments

in peace,

in comfort,

Along the waves crashing on the ocean shore

Sipping on a warm cup of coffee

Reading your little book on self love and all the things it teaches you

and you realize,

There is no escape from the troubles

Rooted deep within the vicinity

Of your own subconsciousness

that you’ve brought here,

There is another half that fails to resonate the existence you wish to speak

Your purpose in this World is

to unearth your power over it,

to quench it,

to quell.
