Shinwari suffers back injury, out for 3 months

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced on Saturday that fast bowler Usman khan Shinwari would not be able to play for at least three months following a back injury.

Shinwari was the part of Pakistan cricket team in One Day International (ODI) and twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka played in United Arab Emirates (UAE) last month. He amazed every one by taking fastest ever five wickets haul in ODI cricket in just his second match.

Shinwari has been advised to take rest for three to five months as the screening confirmed a lumbar-bone stress fracture in his back,

“It is disappointing but this [course of treatment] will give him the best chance of recovering as quickly as possible,” Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur said.

Shinwari had faced a similar problem back in 2013 and missed much of the 2014/15 season with back problems.
