ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Aitzaz Ahsan on Wednesday claimed that Maryam Safdar, daughter of the prime minister, was behind the Dawn Leaks.

Speaking to media, the PPP stalwart said Tariq Fatemi and Rao Tahseen were made scapegoats in the Dawn Leaks saga, claiming that Maryam was involved in it. He said that the PM’s daughter gets key meetings recorded and tweets about them. He questioned how Maryam got news of APC on Kashmir when it was a closed door meeting.

The PPP leader said there was hesitation from the military about meeting at PM house and concern of army proved correct as Maryam got published news against national security. She was saved by making Fatemi and Tahseen scapegoats.

He said, “Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar should stop Maryam from using twitter if he has courage.” He said that efforts are underway to get Maryam elected to parliament.
