Things every single 25-year-old hears in Pakistan

Author: Saba Yousaf

  1. The moment they know you’re 25, the next question would be, “are you married?

2. “tu bhi shadi karwa ly abb” is the most common phrase you have to deal with.

3. For anything wrong you do people will say “dekha… isilye iski shadi nai horhi”

4. If you are a lazy person with least interest in household, your mum would say “kya kro gee aglay ghar ja k? or Maa ne kuch nai sikha k bhejaa”

5. For all these years you have been directed not to look at na-mehrams and suddenly your parents ask “koi pasand hai to bta do”

6. In your sister or cousin’s wedding people would pay less attention to the bride and groom and would chant to you “Agli baari tumhaari”

7. Aunties will take the pain and tell your mother Rishta’s they know of. This happens quite often.

8. And the most annoying one is when your parents ask you to get ready as some family is coming to see you. See me? Am I sick or what?

9. Your parents direct you to act all nice in front of the boy.

10. And some nice people around you would tell you that you’re special, God is taking all this time to plan something special for you.
