Police arrest five suspects

KARACHI: Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested five suspects during raids in different parts of the city.

Police also claimed to have recovered arms from those arrested.

According to details, Kharadar police arrested three alleged Lyari gangsters, Adnan, Naved and Ibrahim and recovered two hand grenades and three pistols from them.

Mubeena Town police arrested a gutka seller Bilal and recovered gutka from them.

Manghopir police arrested an alleged drug dealer, Mujeeb alias Kanna, and recovered arms and drugs from him.

Separately, Sindh Police Inspector General Allah Dino Khowaja has taken notice of media reports about alleged extortion by some policemen.

Media reports had alleged that the Karachi police were collecting extortion from junk dealers in industrial areas of the city. The IG asked officials concerned to take action against corrupt policemen.
