Anti-malaria drive starts in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: Khairpur Deputy Commissioner Nawaz Sohu inaugurated anti-malaria fumigation campaign on Saturday. Sohu said appropriate measures would be taken to end malaria by fumigating all union councils of Khairpur. Addressing the ceremony of anti-malaria campaign at Umbrella Chowk, he said that district administration was keen on providing a healthy environment to masses. Malaria Control Officer Maqbool Hussain Hakro said anti-malaria fumigation would continue for 5 days in which eight spray vehicles would be used.

Anti-polio walk: An anti-polio awareness walk was held with the assistance of Health Department from Umbrella Chowk to Civil Hospital. It was led by Khairpur Assistant Commissioner Safdar Ali and Mukhtiarkar Abdul Shakoor Solangi.

Safdar Ali said that children under five years would be vaccinated through polio drops during the anti-polio campaign, starting from October 30 to November 2.

School freed from occupation: Mirpur Mathelo Civil Judge Saleem Awan, in response to a public complaint, raided and vacated Sultan Mazari Primary School from illegal occupation and ordered the registration of a case against the occupants. He also ordered for the report to be sent to Ghotki district and sessions judge.

Civil judge also directed Mirpur Mathelo taluka education officer to provide school with furniture and ensure the commencement of academic activities.

Action against absent hospital staff: Tharo Shah Civil Judge Nisar Ahmed Shar raided the Rural Health Centre and found medical superintendent, doctors and paramedics absent from their duties. He sent a report to the health department through district and session judge Naushahro Feroze for action against doctors and absent staff.

Search warrants for children’s recovery: District and Session Judge Miss Sadaf Khokhar, responding to the application of Satbai Bhambhro, issued search warrants to Thari Mirwah SHO to search the homes of Liaquat, Irshad, Naveed, Zulfiqar and Raju Bhambhro of village Bhambhro for the recovery of five children, Ilyas, Azhar, Khadim, Azam and Kamil Bhambhro.

Arrest warrants for police inspectors: Khairpur-1 Additional District and Session Judge Shahid Hussain Awan issued bailable arrest warrants against eight inspectors of police including Muhammad Amin Pathan, Ghulam Hussain Samtio, Sanaullah Ujjan, Sibghatullah Jatoi, Abdul Ghafoor Surgani, Ghous Bux Mahar, Loung Khan Baber and Abdul Rasool Junejo for not appearing before the court in different cases.

Meanwhile, Khairpur-1 District and Sessions Judge Shahid Hussain Awan, during a hearing, issued orders to stop the salaries of Sub-Inspectors, Nasrullah Lashari and Roshanuddin Burdi of Khairpur Police. They had been avoiding the court for a long time and finally the court, taking notice of the issue, sent a letter to SSP Khairpur in this connection.
