KARACHI: There is a dire need to hold events at Pakistan foreign missions in various European countries in order to invite investment along with enhancing prime value-added exports and promoting exports of non-traditional goods, executive representatives of leading export-oriented and developing industrial export sectors have maintained.

Experts said in the backdrop of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Commerce Ministry and prime export industrial houses should gear up their respective activities in this direction.

There are bright prospects that investment in Pakistan would reach extraordinary levels in milieu of the CPEC economic activity and it is the right time for economic managers at the helm of government affairs to coordinate with exporters to bring economic welfare to the country, they said.

Pakistan Tanners Association’s Agha Saiddain, Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association’s Ghulam Rabbani, Pakistan onyx and marble sector exports’ Sanaullah Khan, All Pakistan Business Forum’s Ibrahim Qureshi, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry members, cotton export sector’s Shakeel Ahmad and logistic sector’s Khalid Awan opined that under CPEC, it was the responsibility of exporters that potential of the project should not go waste. We should collectively strive to not only let Pakistan increase its trade with Middle East, but also enhance trade with European countries, they asserted.

CPEC is a game changer and an economic renovation project, which is why there was a dire need of calculated efforts in linking other infrastructure development projects to bring more investment to the country, they said.
